Well, it's been a long time since I've been here. I started working again, so I've been distracted.

The little ones are fine. Tallulah has become a shoulder lurker, and is content to spend hours draped over my shoulder or the back of my neck, sleeping. Moke has too much energy for that sort of thing, and just wants to play all the time. Both of them think that my bed is also their bed, and the cage is just for eating and going to the bathroom in. I've yet to convince them that they can also sleep in the cage, in the hammock I so conveniently provided, and as such bedtime is met with great resistance as they grudgingly crawl back into the hammock.

Midget and Smoke are perfectly happy, Midget is over a year now and Smoke's 1st birthday is this month. Midget's started to put on weight, apparently she doesn't like the wheel anymore.

As for me... Well. I'm working. And when I'm not working, or playing with the rats, or reading, I still play WoW. My priest is level 70 now, and my hunter's 67. I am such a terrible geek.

Sabayon's doing okay, all things considered. I'm so proud of my brave girl. She's coping so well with everything life's throwing at her.

Tallulah and Mokenpie are doing cutely. Tally does not believe in sleep. She believes in playtime at all times. Sigh.

I know I still haven't got pictures of the newbies up, but that's because my parents are in Cairns right now, and they have my camera. And there's something more important going on anyway.

I posted last week about Sab's uterine bleeding... Well now she has a prolapsed uterus. We rushed her to the vet and had it pushed back in, but it keeps coming out. The only other thing that can be done is surgery, still trying to make a decision on whether or not I should try and get that done... I've had friends offer to help pay for it, but I'm more concerned about whether she will be able to handle it. She's nearly 28 months now, so she's not young. I don't know what to do.

Well! I still haven't been able to take decent pictures of my new girls, although there's a couple on my website. [link]

They're doing okay. I'm trying to get Tallulah used to being picked up (she doesn't really like it). She reminds me a little bit of Arty... Inquisitive, always at the cage door. She has Kuza's penchant for sitting in my sleeve and she's also the first to use the Wodent Wheel (I got it in January, Sabs wouldn't touch it). But Tally loves the wheel! And keeps me awake all night while loving it!

Mokenpie seems to sleep a lot. She's also been sneezing a bit. She's on a week-long Baytril course to try and clear it up a bit, while I figure out what's making her sneeze. It may just be her still adjusting to the new cage. Anyway, she seems to sleep, build up all her energy, and then release it in one huge burst, turning into the rat hurricane. She popcorns around the cage like someone's lighting fires under her rump. I feel sorry for poor Tally at those times, because Hurricane Mokenpie uses her as a springboard.

Now... Sabayon's another matter. I found blood in her cage the other day, and when I picked her up, found bleeding from her vagina. I had the vet come out yesterday (my vet is a mobile vet, he comes to me) and have a look at her. The bleeding is probably myco related, or possibly a uterine infection. She's on a Baytril course for a few weeks to try and clear it up. Otherwise, she's her usual insane self.

I got the new girls today! They're both looking very small in their cage. I've now got a buff berkshire, Marquise Mokenpie James (aka Moke) and a champagne self, Queen Tallulah Phoenix (aka Tally). They are ADORABLE. I am in love. Tally is sniffing around the cage and Moke's curled up snoozing right now. They're both darling, and so small!

Welllllll... My project of the last few days is finally done. I've made a website devoted to my rats. It's located here: [link]
It's got all the photos and so forth of the girls on it. So if anyone has any feedback, let me know!

And I'll be able to add another two rats to the site next weekend... I've found a breeder to get some ratgirls from! I'm not definitely sure about colours or markings yet, but I'll be sure to make another post when I get them. I'm very excited about the idea of new rats!

Well, I've finally found someone who took 3 of the mice. I kept Midget and her daughter, Smoke (the little black one). It's so much easier now... I'm actually able to spend time with them, and give them the attention they deserve. It was a bit sad to see Smudge go... But he's happy at his new home.

I've been so busy lately. I graduate in a week and I've been caught up doing my final assignments and making sure I've done enough to pass. I know I've passed... My teachers have been hinting so much... But I don't know how well. So that's fun.

Sabayon is doing okay. She's got another lump, which has grown a little, but it's not bothering her right now and I can't afford to have it removed, so it's going to have to stay. She's starting to show her age a little. She's sleeping more (yes, Sabayon, sleeping. Amazing, no?) She's still a little rogue when she's out of her cage. I also took this picture of her with a pepita on her head. I'd been dropping them through the bars of the cage and this one landed on her silly head.


I'm also now seriously considering getting another pair of rats. Now that I'm freed of the multitude of mice, I can do it. And I think Sabs might like some company. I need to find somewhere to get them from, so if anyone in Australia knows anywhere in the Central Coast or maybe even Sydney area that I could get a pair of girl ratlets, please tell me.

Yes, I have another excuse. This time it's perfectly valid (just like all the other ones).

Incredibly geeky story. I'm on the leadership of a new Halo clan (the Road Warriors) after myself and a few others left our previous clan (-AD-) due to internal issues with the leadership there. I've been building the forum and portal for ~RW~. The fun bit about this is that I had absolutely no prior knowledge of php, and as such taught myself to do it. It has completely eaten up my time, on top of coursework and a very very poor social life. I am now more proficient in forum maintenance, though. Anyway. Just an FYI. Once again, it has been a LONG time since I posted. This is because I have been unable to log onto deviantART. My computer is having serious problems and my internet connection has been freaking out when I try to load dA. Sorry to everyone I usually comment, etc.

It was my 18th on Saturday. We had great times. My darling best friend bought me a sword. A replica of the Witchking sword from LOTR. It is awesome. I also got rather drunk in celebration.

I've also decided I want a tattoo of a dragon. I'm trying to find a design. I want it on my lower back, and I want it sort of tribal style. Anyone got any designs?

I'm still trying to find homes for three of my mice. It's becoming increasingly difficult to look after all my animals, what with my studying and everything. I just can't give them all the attention they deserve, though I try. And Sabayon gets preference. No luck in the finding homes department so far.

Okay so, it's been a tough couple of weeks. I had 300-odd messages when I logged in... So apologies to anyone I normally comment and haven't, or faves that I haven't given thanks for.

Sabs is doing okay. She's almost healed, and she's not on the Baytril anymore. She's coughing a lot though. Myco cropping up.

The mice are huge. All of the babies are as big if not bigger than their mum now, and the boy has been removed to his own private cage. I don't think I'm going to be able to keep him, though. He doesn't get along with Smudge and I can't have three cages of mice. So if anyone in the Central Coast/Sydney region of Australia wants a little boy mouse, please let me know. The girls I may be able to keep... Hopefully... If I can't, I have somewhere they can go.
Dad found out about the mice and is pressing for me to give away all of them... I don't want to give away Midget and Smudge... But... I don't know what I'm going to do.

Other than all that... I had an okay weekend. It was my best friend's party, and afterwards we went to someone else's house and got happily drunk.
Cat started freaking out and threw up all over the garden, and Josh passed out on the floor, but other than that, it was okay.

I have class tomorrow so I should probably go to bed... I hope everyone is doing okay.

Wellll....

Sabs goes in for surgery on Thursday. I moped around the house looking depressed for a while, Mum gave in and said she'd pay for it. And it's a good thing too... The lump is right next to one of her legs, and if it gets much bigger, it'll start hindering her movement. So that's that.
EDIT: Well, Sabs is home.She's doing okay. She managed to chew out her sutures even before she got home, and then proceeded to bleed on me when she did, but she's okay now. Asleep. She's a bit sore and walking isn't very easy, so I've set her cage up on one level to make it easy for her. The next fun thing will be trying to get her to take her Baytril...
EDITEDIT: She's settled down now, sleeping happily, and seems a bit better. Got to get some Baytril in her, then it's bedtime for me.

In the mice world... Smoke's eyes opened this morning. It is unbelievably cute. I picked her up to have a look, and she was looking back at me! I imagine the other two will open their eyes soon, today or tomorrow. They're very sweet. And I'm sure now that I sexed them right... You can still see the nipples on the girls.
EDIT: Babies are doing well. All three have their eyes open and Smoke had a little wander round the cage today. I think Midget is getting sick of the whole motherhood thing. I found her curled up on top of the water bottle this morning, fast asleep where her kids couldn't reach her!

Anyway... I'll update after Sabby comes home on Thursday.

The babies are eleven days today, and doing well. I had a go at sexing them this morning, and although I'm not sure if I got it right, I think I have two girls and a boy. I've given them the tentative nicknames of Smoke, Fyre and Flame. They're all starting to get used to me now, and Midget seems happy to let me take them out and handle them, photograph them, etc. She's a very well-behaved mouse, my Midge.

On the subject of Sabayon... My parents refuse to pay for her surgery, and I don't have the money. Still not sure what I'll do. I don't want to leave the lump there.

One last thing, before I have to go have a driving lesson. I'm studying... finally... this year. Three days a week for 21 weeks. This is good news. Starting to get my life on track, finally!

So I've been on vacation for the past five days. We took Sabby with us. She got spoilt rotten... eight people doting on her. Dad kept trying to sneak her treats when I wasn't looking, and she was very helpful at playing board games. She's also developed a little lump... It doesn't feel like a tumour, I think it's an abcess. I'm going to call the vet tomorrow. I also got my order from the Dapper Rat. A brand new hammock (chewers and pocket) that hopefully she will find difficult to destroy. And a wodent wheel. Not sure if she'll use it, but hey, there'll be other rats.
EDIT: The vet has just been. It's not an abcess, it's either a hernia or a soft fatty tumour. Either way, she needs surgery. Don't know what I'm going to do.

Still no luck in the hunt for ratlets.

In other news... Apparently I didn't seperate Midget and Smudge quick enough. I left them with Cat, and she called me when I was on vacation to tell me I have mice babies. Anyone want one? I haven't actually seen them yet... They're at Cat's until I can sneak the mice home.
EDIT: I have three babies. They're just starting to get markings. One if black, the other two are a caramelly colour. I'll get pics of them soon!

I've started playing Kingdom of Loathing. It's great fun.

Anyway. My vacation was good. I even went in the ocean. And anyone who knows me well knows that I'm dead scared of the ocean so it was a big step for me. I didn't go in far and it was dead calm, but it was still a step. Couldn't bring myself to even go in knee-deep where there were waves. Hopefully I've got some good pictures, too. We saw dolphins!

EDIT: One more thing I forgot to mention. I got my L's. So I can finally learn to drive.
Also, I'm going back to study next year. Enrolled this morning. Finally get my shit together. Good huh?

Well, I have some news.

Firstly, I now have 3 mice. One of Cat's baby mice is now living with Midget. And Smudge is by himself. Yes, HIMself. We made an interesting discovery once Smudge had grown a bit. He is not a she. So now I have a boy and two girls. Ugh.

Cat's mouse also had another litter, and they lost one of the first. The most recent litter has four babies. There were five, but one was sickly and passed away. She only has two of the first litter left now. Safran and Ninja. The others have gone to new homes.

Sabsy is a bit lonely. I want to get another pair of rats ASAP. Problem is, my parents don't want me to. I don't know any breeders around here. So if anyone in the Central Coast or even Sydney region knows where I can get a pair of little girls, please tell me.

Lastly... My brother and I got a Nintendo Wii. It's great fun. Twilight Princess has suckered me in and it's eating my soul.

Anyway, must go. Rodents are begging for attention and the Wii is calling my name.
